When it comes to losing weight, it’s a constant cycle of yo-yo dieting. We are in and out of dieting all the time which is actually having an impact on our health mentally and physically!

This Cycle has never been so accurate!

I have spoken to many patients who have constantly given up on trying to reach their target weight loss goal, it doesn’t matter how many times you hit the gym or starve yourself after that salad, you just can’t seem to budge those stubborn pounds.

My advice is to NEVER give up on a goal that means most to you!

Beginning a healthier lifestyle is a choice within yourself and if you really put your mind to it, you can do it. I am writing this because I want you to open your mind to options. When you hear  ‘SkinnyJab’, you tend to think ”oh really? another fad diet plan trying to be sold to me!”

Weight loss is not easy and here at SkinnyJab, we know that. We are a medical weight loss company which has successfully treated over 4000 patients.

My job is extremely rewarding when I get a text on a Sunday morning from a patient to say they have lost 9lbs in just one week!

Step By Step Guide To Begin A Positive Weight Loss Journey

Step 1

Establish WHY you want to lose weight…

Are you wanting to become healthier? Or do you just want those stubborn pounds to go?  or maybe.. you are trying for a baby? Or perhaps, you need to lose weight because it is having an impact on your health?  

Step 2

Clearing out the CR*P!

Whether this is quite literally clearing our your cupboards or clearing your mind, body and soul

I would ALWAYS suggest, when starting a new adventure, begin with a healthy positive attitude, if you chose a better approach towards your goal, you WILL achieve it!

You CAN do this!

Step 3


This is time to be selfish, it is time to think about YOU!

Your weight loss goal is YOUR goal and only you can achieve it. Sometimes, we can fall down and this is completely normal during your journey, leading you back to square one. Never suffer in silence, we are here to provide you with help and motivation, that is what we are here for!  

Step 4

Reduce Temptation

As previously stated in step 2, it’s time to reduce the temptation of the biscuit tin! You are going to be focused for 4 weeks, your cravings will be reduced thanks to our amazing programme however, don’t make it difficult for yourself by having the cakes still in the cupboard… BIN!

Step 5


When you begin your weight loss journey, sometimes it can become obsessive and you want to step on the scales to see how many pounds you’ve lost. Well, this isn’t a healthy attitude towards reaching your weight loss goal.

My advice?..

Try and forget that you are even on a diet, you won’t feel hungry on SkinnyJab as it works as an appetite suppressant so this should take the pressure off. However, let it go over your head! Try a nice walk, hit the gym (if you want too) or do something fun with your friends!

I recommend WEEKLY weigh ins … Sunday 10am is the best time!

Begin A Weight Loss Journal, Stay Motivated

Write a daily journal, if you want too, sometimes this can help to read back on how far you have come. Once you start seeing results, you become more and more motivated to keep going. Try inspiring others too, is your friend struggling to lose weight? Help and Motivate them with YOUR story!

Step 7

Don’t Let Set Backs Set You Back! Learn to Love and Appreciate Your Body

Keep going, sometimes we can step on the scales and be disappointed with ourselves but you have to remember that ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’. This is YOUR Journey & PATIENCE is the KEY!

Here are some ideas to help you boost your body image:

  • Exercise  
  • Appreciate what your body can do  
  • Do something for yourself, such as getting a massage or manicure  
  • Surround yourself with positive people  
  • Stop comparing yourself to others  
  • Wear clothes you like and that fit you well

Step 8


Begin your journey with organisation, this will help you begin with a positive attitude!

You can do this by prepping your soups, meals for lunch and planning your daily 30 minute walk

The great thing about our SkinnyJab programme is that you do not need to be stressing about a gym membership! Light exercise or even walking is recommended

Step 9


Telling others about your weight loss goals will help you stay motivated. Tell your close family and friends, and even consider sharing your stories on social media. The more people you share your goals with, the greater the accountability

Remember, staying consistent will help you achieve great things mentally and physically

Step 10

Reward Your Success!

Rewarding yourself is very important, you have been hard working and great during this process! It’s now time for a reward

You can do things like buying some new clothes, buying yourself a gift, taking a trip to the cinema with friends, having your make up done professionally or even a spa day to celebrate the success and hard work you have achieved!

Most importantly, I hope my blog has really helped you to see the vision and the power of being positive and staying consistent during this adventure!
